i don't post very much anymore. its kind of tied in to having a girlfriend i think, working full time, living out of home... I feel like i don't even exist anymore, like my soul has departed my body and i have continued to live through pure inertia. I feel some kind of obligation to update you on the minute facts of my life. I'm going back to uni to study business, switching to part time work and as a result most likely I will be forced to move back home. Which I'm alright with. I'm sort of sick of my room mate spending all his time on the couch with the zombie game volume turned up to 11, forcing me hide in my room with my headphones on. Plus my girlfriend hardly ever comes over because she feels like she's intruding. I only really moved out so we'd have our own space and she doesn't want to use it.
I'm cooking her a big fancy dinner tomorrow night as a last ditch effort to win her heart. She's getting bored of me, I can feel it. She feels the love dying and she blames me because its all she knows to do. She'll cancel her plans with me to hang out with her work friends and then, at the end of the week, accuse me of not taking an interest and being satisfied hardly ever seeing her. Its only just dawned on me that maybe we won't be together forever. I'd kind of like it if we were together forever. I love her so much.
I had a dream the other day, that my grandfather called from beyond the grave to tell us that he was okay. I haven't passed the message on to mum like he asked, but its very hard to find a right moment to do so.
so i am really very excited about going back to uni, but I feel like I'm at another crossroads. Or more like, after resting in a strange, uncomfortable town for the past two years, I have decided to get back to my long hard hike home, and who knows how hard its going to be? i don't know who'll come with me, and I don't have the faintest idea where I'm really going |

so if somebody collects vinyl, but doesn't play it, would they be more of a wanker or less of a wanker if they didn't own a turntable? |

so you can get 'in rainbows' by radiohead as a digital download by either: a) getting it for free at 160kbps, or b) paying $17 for it on iTunes, at 128kbps
and people are paying for it on iTunes. hmm. dear dumb people. use inrainbows.com. if you want to give radiohead more money, you can, you don't have to split it up through aggregators and business men! |

so i had a wee car accident going through a cross intersection in hornsby, i was narrowly missed by a truck behind me, that ignored a stop sign. after that, there was a sharp upwards curve in the camber of the road, just on the other side of the intersection. i hit that too fast and bumped the bottom of the car into the road, damaging the oil sump and starting to leak oil, all the way home until the car started beeping and telling me to pull over. so i did and now the car is in the repair shop.
really, it was a minor incident that happened about a tenth of a second after narrowly missing a major incident, so its not as big a deal as it felt at the time, but I reckon if i was going slowly enough to hit the bump and not damage the car, the truck would have hit me and i wouldn't be writing this note now...
pardon the melodramatic |

on Friday night, FBi's incomperable Maddie Palmer played a song of mine (Bleep) on the radio. Immediately afterwards she played a song by Katalyst. And Katalyst felt so big and bright, and the Luminarsi track so small and dull, like it was being played through laptop speakers.
It was then when I realised, I'm not mixing in enough high frequencies! So i went back to the track and realised that i'd unintentionally attenuated all the top end before 10khz, and thats right where the sparkle goes, the splashy hi hats, the brash horn lines, the shiny guitar.
So I'm fixing all those tracks up now, putting the sparkle back in the top end. And I was just so excited that I thought I'd tell you all :) Its sounding pretty darn cool. |

i'm working on this song at the moment, and the first line goes 'why are you callin' me a ho, when you're the one who just charged me for sex?'. The lyrics need some work but the beat is awesome. |
